Working moms. I understand the road you are traveling. I see you everyday. I was you.

They say a picture can tell a thousand words but a person tells the story.

The eyes are the window of the soul.

Not many want to share raw or hard parts of our lives because it’s painful but this one is something I feel I have to share in hopes that every woman in America that is a mother knows that the journey home to yourself may feel like the shortest distance from your head to your heart but the steps to get there is different for everyone. You will not get external validation for deciding one day you will choose you and your wellbeing. You only will choose the life that makes you happy and brings you peace. This will be one of those most liberating, quiet and trusting states of your life. The neutral, happy and in flow part of your being.

I wanted to share with working moms a bit about my journey and I’m using these pictures above for you to see it. A picture of me in 2019, left. I was a deer in headlights. Feeling not valued or supported at home or work. Living in lack. Oscillating between anxiety & depression. Financially stressed. Stressed, overwhelmed, in fear and scared. Stuck and shackled to my job. Dissatisfied and angry. Resentful. My body and mind was completely burned out and my system was telling me so.

Why am I sharing this?

I am a working mom, parent and advocate for all things you wrangle with with yourself and society. You are trying to find your way home. Your purpose and your sense of wellbeing. Somehow between getting pregnant and growing your family, things got muddled, busy and that rat race became a part of the daily. I know that rhythm too well.

I’m here to tell you there is another way. It may be the ever lightest sound and whisper. You may try to stuff it down and not listen. It may even be a low hum that you hear from time to time. That is the thing that is trying to get your attention. The thing that may just be telling you to shift or that change may be on the horizon.

I am every working mom that wants to reclaim her energy because I know that it’s a practice. I know it doesn’t arrive in a day. I know that it is a diligent, courageous, and dedicated system of thoughts, events, support systems, positive self talk, routine and habit to create a pathway that makes sense for you to continue to walk. All you need is the motivation, courage, and roadmap to get there. You just need to begin and start.

When you begin to prioritize you, you shift your lens to your life, you begin to remember that energy you had within. You find her again.

So mammas out there. I urge you to take notice when things start to get out of hand. When signals go off that life is getting really busy and your health is not the same. Or your kids are not responding the same. It may show up in various areas of your life but they are signs. Your wellbeing is a huge part of the transformation equation. It’s the one that is going to balance you.

When moms are well, so is the world.
