Is It Burnout — Or Is It Something Else?
I have sat across from so many women — in coaching sessions, in school pickup lines, in group chats at 11pm — who all say some version of the same thing:
"I don't know what's wrong with me. I just don't feel like myself."
As a coach, my first instinct is always to look at the whole picture — sleep, workload, boundaries, support systems. But the longer I do this work, the more I've had to sit with a harder question:
What if it's not just the load you're carrying? What if something is shifting inside your body too?
I'm 43 with three kids, and I'll be honest — perimenopause used to feel like a conversation for later. But "later" has a way of arriving quietly, and sometimes what we're calling burnout deserves a closer look.
That's why, as part of my ongoing commitment to supporting you beyond our coaching conversations, I want to introduce a trusted provider from my preferred network: Kimberley Arcara, MSN, PMHNP-BC — a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner specializing in exactly this intersection of mental health and hormonal health.
I'll let her tell you more — because this is exactly her expertise.

If You Don’t Feel Like Yourself Lately… Read This
Many of the women I work with are high-functioning, capable, and used to pushing through stress.
But sometimes what feels like “burnout” or “overwhelm” isn’t just stress.
In your 30s and 40s, subtle hormonal shifts can begin affecting mood, sleep, focus, anxiety, and even confidence, often long before periods change dramatically.
If you’ve caught yourself thinking, “Why does everything feel harder than it used to?” or “Why don’t I feel like myself?”, it may be worth taking a closer look.
In my practice, I evaluate both mental health and hormone levels so we’re not guessing or simply layering on solutions without clarity. Sometimes it’s stress. Sometimes it’s perimenopause. Often it’s a combination.
The goal isn’t to over-medicalize. It’s to understand what’s actually happening so you can feel steady, clear, and supported again.
How it works:
We begin with a telehealth consultation where we review your symptoms, history, and overall health picture. If appropriate, we order labs and then create a personalized plan based on what your body truly needs.
If you’re wondering whether hormones could be playing a role in how you’ve been feeling, you’re welcome to complete a brief application. If it looks like we’re aligned, you’ll be invited to schedule a complimentary consult to discuss next steps.
